Gasco Pty Ltd, an Australian company at the forefront of heat and combustion processing & Oil & Gas conditioning technology have recently expanded their capability by incorporating Flownex.
“We were very impressed by the transient modelling capabilities of Flownex, and the additional ability to analyse combustion & 2-phase flows“ says Alan Hovorka, Gasco Engineering Director – Oil & Gas. “Our investment in Flownex demonstrates Gasco’s commitment to stay at the forefront of technology and our quest for quality products and services to our clients”
Gasco is currently using Flownex to determine complex flow / thermal phenomena typical of the Oil & Gas industry, including Joule Thompson heating/cooling and the associated thermal inertia of piping like blowdown & re-pressurisation. Dr Hannes van der Walt, senior Thermal / Process Engineer at Gasco added. “Over the years I’ve seen a number of pipe network codes. Flownex is however by far the most powerful in terms of transient heat transfer & flow modelling. I am also very impressed with the technical support of the Flownex team.”
Flownex provides Gasco with the capability to simulate pipe wall heat transfer and insulation layers in addition to normal fluid dynamics, heat loss from the pipe lines to ambient conditions, dynamic simulations including pressure waves, the temperature changes at valves caused by the Joule Thompson effect and natural gas mixtures to name a few.
